Anthony
Philip Fine Art is proud to present "Sin Título," an exhibit of recent
stone lithographs by Argentinian painter Alejandro Avakian.
"Sin
Título" explores the primal, youthful force of the artist, using his whole
body in the service of mark making. Avakian allows the existential and
elemental experience to supersede formal considerations. However he remains as
in control as a jazz musician. Free to step to the front and improvise in the
moment, yet in control, he is aware of how the progressions and rhythms inform
each passage.
Alejandro
Avakian was born in Argentina to Armenian parents. He has divided his time
between Argentina and New York for the past few years. This personal
internationalism has given his work a timeless and universal quality. This new
portfolio of nine pieces was hand-pulled by the artist at New York's Robert
Blackburn Printshop during 2016.
The
exhibition opens with a reception on Friday, January 6, 2017 from 6-9pm and
will continue during regular business hours through Sunday March 5, 2017
